Minimum annual leave entitlement rises to 28 days in April 2009. Act now if your leave year starts in January.
The final phase of the increase in minimum annual leave entitlement occurs in April 2009. The minimum will become 28 days in total (including bank holidays) for employees working 5 days per week (5.6 weeks per year.)
If you already provide this level of entitlement for your staff, you will not need to award any increases.
However, if you only allow the statutory minimum and your company annual leave period coincides with the calendar year (January – December); you will need to recalculate the leave allowances now to take account of the change part-way through the year. Get in touch if you want to book a review of your leave arrangements to ensure that you comply with the new entitlements.
